Katie Burnett refused to be caught Wednesday in the 19th Annual Michigan PGA Women’s Championship at Crystal Mountain Resort in Thompsonsville.

Burnett fired a blistering 54-hole total of 11-under 205 to win by 10 shots.

Whitehall’s Laura Kueny finished in a fourth-place tie at 217. Kueny shot rounds of 79-70 and 68 and pocketed a check for $2,150.

Burnett, from Brunswick, Ga., took home the top check of $5,500 in the $36,000 event. Laura Bavaird, from Grosse Ile, was second at 215. Ashley Tate of Littleton, Colo. finished third and Kueny finished tied with Olivia Jordan-Higgins, from the United Kingdom.

Burnett, 22, is a recent graduate of the University of South Carolina.
