White Lake and Tri-City North will battle for the District 12 Juniors championship tonight.

The title game is 6:30 p.m. tonight at Fremont High School. The survivor will move on to the eight-team state championship.

On Sunday, White Lake advanced with a 13-3 victory over Holton. Solid pitching by Jacob Buchberger and Chayce Swanson carried White Lake. Every player recorded at least one hit for White Lake, which was led by Cameron Brayman and Buchberger, who had back-to-back triples. Cameron Waller led the way with four RBI. Shortstop Jake Gillhespy was solid on defense.

Kent City grabbed a 5-0 lead over Tri-County North after four innings, but Tri-County rallied for seven runs to take the lead. Kent City returned the favor with nine runs in its half of the sixth inning. Tri-County put up seven more runs in its half of the sixth. The slugfest ended with a 20-15 Tri-City North victory.

The state tournament will be hosted by White Lake. Fields at Montague and Whitehall high schools will be used for the tournament. That tournament will begin Friday with opening ceremonies at 11:30 a.m. and the game beginning at 12:30 p.m.

White Lake last hosted the tournament in 1995.
