Fruitport came away with a 1-1 boys soccer standoff with Hudsonville on Thursday.
Hudsonville scored on a penalty kick in the opening, but Fruitport came right back.
Dalton Mullenix took a pass from Taylor McLaughlin, dribbled past a Hudsonville defender then blasted a shot past the goalkeeper and into the net.
“Fruitport played some real entertaining and quality soccer,” Trojan coach Greg Kobylak said. “We are starting to playl with the style we envision and will keep working to improve. But, the Trojans are disappointed with the draw as we feel we were the better team.”
Fruitport (3-2-2) had a 13-5 advantage in shots.
“We missed too many chances to score more goals and get the victory,” Kobylak said.
Fruitport goalkeeper Loghan Stong made four saves.
