GIRLS GOLF
WHITEHALL

Coaches: Deanna and Chris Cullen

Graduation took a heavy toll on the Vikings as six of 10 players from a year ago graduated.

The only returning regular is senior Nikki Borgman. Needless to say, there are high expectations for her as a four-year varsity player.

There is plenty of rebuilding for the Vikings, who have four girls that have not posted an 18-hole score before. Senior Autumn Sherman put in the work this summer and could slide into the No. 2 spot. Senior Marlee Anderson is in her second season on the team. Taylor Boyd, a junior, and Britney Loudermilk, a freshman, are newcomers.

“It is evident that these girls are good athletes and we expect that they will transition to golf quickly,” Deanna Cullen said. “They have already made great improvements in the first couple of weeks of the season.

“As a team, we need to stay focused and healthy,” Cullen said. “Hopefully, we will see our team scores improve with every event.”
