BOYS
The Spartans will be led by junior Chase Barnett, who finished second at the Division 3 state finals meet last season, along with being a regional and West Michigan Conference champion. Other returning runners are Jordan Johnson (sr.), Alex Myers (sr.), Austin Persoon (jr.), Noah Genson (soph.), Drew Griffis (soph.) and Nathan Boes (sr.). Top newcomers for MCC will be freshmen Mitch Lange, Zac Benham, Logan Merrick, Nolan Asiala and Cody Cooper. The Spartans might be young, but they have plenty of depth and will look to win the WMC and have a strong post season.
GIRLS
Seniors Andrea Lavigne and Morgan Lange and junior Lindsay Larsen will lead the Spartans this season. Top newcomers for MCC this season will be freshmen Leta Larsen, Chloe Kimes, Jordyn Sanders and junior Katelyn Graczyk. Nearly half the MCC team will be freshmen, but with strong leadership, Coach Sanders looks for good things to happen and possibly contend for the WMC.
