VOLLEYBALL
MASON COUNTY CENTRAL

Coach: Mary Scheffler, 2nd season
Last year: 12-32-1.

Having six experienced players return give the Spartans confidence they can dramatically improve on season’s record.

Setter/outside hitter Kassidy Jensen, three-year varsity setter, is back for her senior year. Jensen had 132 points, 144 assists and 47 aces as a junior.

Seniors Holly Olenchak and Jessica Overturf are middle hitters while senior Janaya Pugh and junior Madisen Geers are back as outside hitters.

The Spartans also welcome back senior libero Lindsay Scheffler, who was sidelined with a knee injury last season. At times, she will be a setter.

Coach Scheffler also has a pair of promising newcomers in junior Payton Bladzik and sophomore Kenzie Ritzema.

“We anticipate that we will be a strong competitor this season,” Scheffler said. “We only lost a few to graduation and most of the starters for this season were starters last year. We are hitting hard, passing better and playing well as a team.”
