The Muskegon Motorcycle Club is gearing up this weekend for the 2012 All Star National Pro Hillclimb Challenge at Mt. Garfield.

Mt. Garfield will open Friday for camping with activities throughout the weekend. The event will host burnout pits, biker games and other events at the club’s grounds in Norton Shores. The event is expected to draw several thousand spectators.

The main hill climbing eventĀ kicks off on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. and is sponsored by Hot Rod Harley Davidson, Babbitt’s SportsĀ Center, No More Sidelines and the Muskegon Motorcycle Club.

Many Muskegonites have grown accustomed to theMt. Garfield event for decades. The original property was bought by Dan Raymond back in 1920 to create a home for the Muskegon Motorcycle Club. The National Pro Hillclimb is held at the Mt. Garfield site every even-numbered year.
