He also walked in the first inning, stole second, went to third on an errant throw and scored on a wild pitch by Ranger starting pitcher Scott Feldman.

In the fifth, he delivered a 405-foot home run to right. It was his first major league home run since July 17, 2011, when he was a member of the Atlanta Braves.

“I don’t ever take any day in the big leagues for granted,” said McLouth in an interview with the Baltimore Sun. “But to be able to do it for a team that is pushing here late in the season is a lot more fun.”

McLouth began the season with the Pittsburgh Pirates, was released then signed by the Orioles. He had a solid stint in AAA Norfolk before his recall to the big leagues on Nov. 4.

He is hitting .255 with the Orioles.
