Ravenna Bulldogs heading into season as soccer underdogs in WM Conference

A handful of seniors, mixed in with plenty of underclassmen, will take the field for the Bulldogs this season. Senior goalkeeper Stephon Barrette will be a leader along with seniors Ben Helsen, Joe Moran and Daniel Wagner. Travis Helsen and Jake Dygas also will play key roles. The midfield position will be led by Marcos Garcia and senior Alejandro Ponce. There is plenty of youth at midfield with freshmen Aaron VanderWoude, Kellin Timlin and Michael Moran.

Up front, the Bulldogs expect some offense from newcomers Dylan Starr, Mason Averill and Connor Moran.

“It’s hard to tell at this moment where we should situate ourselves in the West Michigan Conference,” Lauryssens said. “We will definitely play the role of underdog.”
