Reeths-Puffer used a strong first half to top Western Michigan Christian 3-1 in high school boys soccer on Saturday afternoon.

The Rockets led 3-0 by halftime with Austin Blaski giving Reeths-Puffer its first goal. Blaski sliced through  the Warrior defense and worked free to find the net.

Brandon Gillikin put R-P up 2-0 on a penalty kick and Tyler Brown set up another Blaski goal with a cross in front of the net just before halftime.

The Warriors lone goal came 6 minutes into the second half on an Alec Breit free kick from 25 yards out. Breit’s kick came in low and deflected off the hands of Rocket goalie Troy Gilmore, who posted the win for Reeths-Puffer in goal.

“That’s the style of play we have to do,” said Rocket coach Keith Knapp. “The second half we digressed a little with the long ball. We have some work to do, we have to start putting together a solid 80 minutes instead of 40.”
