The Fruitport Trojans made quick work of the Grant Tigers on Tuesday in a Lakes 8 soccer match.
The more experienced Trojans improved their record to 5-3-2 with a 9-0 victory over the Tigers. The game was called at halftime due to the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s mercy rule.
Fruitport was led by Colin Sparks with three goals.  Other goal scorers for the Trojans were Dalton Mullennix, Taylor McLaughlin, goalkeeper Loghan Stong (penalty kick), Ryan Craker, Jacob Clendenon and Cody Pekel.
Matt Escalante had two assists while McLaughlin, Mullennix, Pekel, Collin Cribley, Ryan Craker and Nick Carrier each had one.
Fruitport outshot Grant 15-0.
