Fruitport’s Matt Escalante and Colin Sparks both tallied hat tricks as the Trojans topped Howard City Tri-County 8-0 on Thursday night in Lakes 8 boys soccer.

Fruitport (6-3-2, 2-0) jumped out to a 5-0 halftime lead over the Vikings (5-2, 1-1) and held a 22-13 edge in shots.

Goalie Loghan Stong earned the shutout by posting 12 saves.

“We are playing good,” said Fruitport coach Greg Kobylak. “We have room to grow and the next weeks of conference play will give us challenges to show our improvement.”

Ryan Craker and Kevin Rollenhagen both added goals for Fruitport. Matt Umstead had two assists while Dalton Mullennix and Andrew Frost each had an assist.
