Mona Shores gets hat tricks from Nate Hoover, Jacob Carlson in soccer rout of Grand Rapids Union

Nate Hoover and Jacob Carlson each scored three goals Tuesday in Mona Shores’ 8-1 soccer victory over Grant Rapids Union.

Christian Zurchauer and Jeremy Szost also connected on goals for the Sailors, who oiut shot Union 22-4.

Hoover and Carlson each chipped in with an assist. Other assists were credited to Zurchauer (2 assists), Riley Williamson (2 assists), Nate Majeski, and Christian Fritz.

Jesus Baca scored the lone goal for Union, 2-1 overall, 0-1 in the conference.

Shores keeper Joey Wolffis had two saves and Nathan Mars, who came on in relief, had one.
