The Muskegon Community College women’s soccer team turned in a solid effort on Sunday in a 3-0 victory over Schoolcraft Community College.

The Jayhawks controlled most of the play throughout the game.

Anna Carmean scored in the game’s 53rd minute with a shot from the top of the goal box. Linsye Haan gave MCC a 2-0 lead on a goal that was assisted by Ashlee Taylor. With Haan on her right in a 2-on-1 break, Taylor pushed the ball to Haan, who put her shot low to the far post and into the net.

Allison Mahn completed the scoring in the 77th minute. Her shot from 18 yards out went inside the far post, just out of the reach of the Schoolcraft goalkeeper.

MCC coach Josh Watson was pleased with the play of Carmean and Autumn Brodeaur in the midfield.
