Big Rapids scored late to defeat Newaygo 34-27 in Central States Athletic Association action Friday at Top Taggart Field at Ferris State University.
The Cardinals’ Eric Boyd scored on a 71-yard touchdown run with 39 seconds left in the game for the win.
Both teams came into the game with identical 6-1 records, but the loss drops Newaygo to 6-2 on the year.
