Grand Haven’s Claire Borchers won individual honors at the Division 1 regional girls cross country meet at Allendale and led the Bucs to a second-place finish and a berth in the state finals meet.

The Bucs finished with 69 points to place second behind team champion Rockford.

Mona Shores (180) finished seventh, Reeths-Puffer (216) was eighth and Muskegon placed 13th with 402 points.

The top three teams and top 15 individuals who are not members of a state finals qualifying team advance to the state finals meet at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn on Nov. 3.

Borchers finished in a time of 18:23 to place first overall.

GH’s Roxy Glasser (18:51) placed eighth and Lindy Vallier (19:17) finished 14th overall.

Mona Shores’ Serena Gale-Butto (18:48) qualified for the state finals by placing seventh overall.
