Grand Haven boys cross country team finishes in third place at Division 1 regional meet to qualify for state finals

Grand Haven earned 88 points to finish third at the Division 1 boys cross country regional at Allendale on Saturday and qualified for the state finals race.

The Bucs finished behind Kenowa Hills with 78 points and team champion Rockford with 35.

Mona Shores finished seventh with 212 points and Muskegon finished in 11th place with 308 points.

The top three teams and top 15 individuals who are not members of a state finals qualifying team advance to the state finals meet at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn on Nov. 3.

Justin Pippel (16:06) placed fourth to lead Grand Haven.

Mona Shores’ Jacob Baker (16:45) qualified for the finals race by placing 15th overall.
