Ludington ties for third place at Division 4 state tennis finals

Ludington’s boys tennis team tied for third place at the Division 4 state finals meet at Kalamazoo College on Saturday.

The Orioles finished with 16 points and tied for third place with Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett.

Ann Arbor Greenhills won the championship with 36 points.

Ludington’s Spencer Knudsen lost in the semifinals at No. 2 singles to Kalamazoo Christian’s Andrew Klein 6-3, 6-2.

Jon Pugh at No. 3 singles for Ludington lost in the semifinals to Kalamazoo Christian’s Brad Plaiser 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles, Ludington’s No. 2 doubles tandem of Sam Nellis and Justin Markham lost their semifinal match to Comstock Park’s Wil Douma and Ryan Schall 6-1, 6-4.

Ludington’s No. 3 doubles team of Yari Lynch and Chad Ague lost their semifinal match to Ann Arbor Greenhills Conner Kaczynski and Matteo Todisco 6-0, 6-2.
