The men’s soccer team at Muskegon Community College endured a tough, physical soccer match on Saturday and  finished with a 0-0 standoff with Cincinnati State Tech and Community College.

MCC goalkeeper Tyler Lane stopped all 10 shots he faced, including three solid saves to keep the opposition off the board in regulation.

“We had six shots and put some nice pressure on their goal at the end of regulation and had two shots in the overtimes,” MCC coach Ben Ritsema said.

With the tie, the Jayhawks have qualified for the Region XII postseason tournament. Ritsema’s team is currently third behind Schoolcraft and Owens. The postseason tournament will be hosted by Grand Haven High School later this month.
