The women’s soccer team from Muskegon Community College dropped a 3-0 decision to Owens Community College on Sunday.

The game was scoreless until host Owens notched a pair of goals in the last 5 minutes of the first half.

“MCC controlled the middle of the field well today, however could not take advantage of opportunities,” Jayhawk coach Josh Watson said.

Owens added its third goal with less than 2 minutes remaining in the game.

Emily Manchester had four saves in the MCC net.

“Owens played a very strong and fast game (Sunday),” Watson said. “Their forwards did a gret job of going at our defense with speed and determination.”

MCC returns home for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday against Schoolcraft. The game will be played at Orchard View High School.
