Unbeaten Muskegon will host Grand Rapids Union Friday night in a Black Out For Cancer game.

The Big Reds will be wearing black jerseys for the contest, which is being staged to help fight cancers in men. The jerseys will be auctioned off after the game. Fans also are being asked to wear black shirts or buy a special black T-shirt at the game.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the local American Cancer Society.

Muskegon coach Shane Fairfield said this will become an annual fund-raiser. “Our goal is to bring more awareness to this,” Fairfield said. “We are encouraging the crowd to wear black, so we can come together and knock it out.”
