The host North Muskegon Norse boys soccer team opened its district tournament with an 8-0 victory over Ravenna on Tuesday.
Zach Rummery and Spencer Wallis both scored two goals, with Anthony Smith, Jake Berends, Jake Walton and Jonathon Chacon adding single goals in the victory.
William Byl notched four assists for North Muskegon, with teammates Connor Gannon and Louis Hirata adding one assist each.
The Norse outshot the Bulldogs 16-1, with Norse goalkeeper Jesse Dunn turning back the lone Ravenna shot.
Bulldog goalie Stephon Barrette finished with eight stops in the loss.
The Norse move on to face Fruitport Calvary Christian at Thursday’s semifinal match at Western Michigan Christian. That match is set to start at 5 p.m.
