The Hesperia Panthers boys cross country team finished in 10th place at the Division 4 state finals meet at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn on Saturday.

The Panthers finished with 307 points, while Concord won the team championship with 61 points.

The Panthers were led by all-state runner Damien Halverson (16:36), who finished in 28th place overall.

Any runner placing in the top 30 earned all-state honors.

Alex Prado (89th), Arik LaFave (116th), Lucas Smith (128th) and Austin Kleiner (133rd) rounded out the runners for the Panthers.

Fremont Providence Christian’s Nick Vanderkooi (16:06) placed fourth overall to earn all-state honors as did North Muskegon’s Jacob Chovaz (16:09), who placed sixth.

Concord’s Jesse Hersha was the overall winner in a time of 15:32.
