The men’s basketball team at Muskegon Community College had a successful weekend by winning both of its games. Led by Jalin Gross, the Jayhawks defeated Alpena and Kirtland.
Friday
Muskegon Community College 68, Alpena 57: Jalin Gross led the Jayhawks with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Delvon Brown had 14 points and nine rebounds. Kenya Oas also reached double figures with 12 points. He made 4-of-7 shots from behind the 3-point line. MCC led 43-25 at the half.
Saturday
Muskegon Community College 85, Kirtland Community College 78: Gross turned in a stellar game in the victory over Kirtland with 36 points and 11 rebounds. Brown added nine points and eight rebounds. The weekend victories move the Jayhawks record to 8-3 with their next game on Dec. 20 at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids.
