Marquese Livers and Quinzell Pannell scored 20 points each, but it was not enough as Reeths-Puffer lost to host Grand Rapids Creston 68-64 on Tuesday night.

Livers also pulled down 23 rebounds.

The Rockets fell down early trailing 20-11 after one quarter before cutting the Creston lead to 45-40 after three quarters.

“We had to make this a basketball game and didn’t want to play street ball like we did in the first half,” Rocket coach Dave Ingles said.

The Rockets had a one-point lead with six minutes left and it went back and forth until R-P was forced to foul. Curtis Davison made all nine of his free throws in the fourth quarter. He finished with 21 points.

Jalen Benton chipped in with 13 points and five steals for the Rockets.
