SPRING LAKE – The Spring Lake girls basketball team wasted no time Friday night against Lakes 8 rival Grant, running out to the 23-10 halftime lead en route to at 46-29 victory.

The Lakers took an early 10-6 lead after one and then outscored the Tigers 13-4 in the second to pull away.

Grant was outscored by a narrow 23-19 margin in the second half, halting any thought of a Tiger comeback.

Grant senior Dayle Wood was the contest’s leading scoring, pouring in 16 points in the loss. Teammate Kaycee Fahlen added seven.

SpringLake’s Molly Meidema led the Lakers with 11, with Kelsee Zuidema adding 10, and Brittany Beeler adding nine in the victory.
