The Muskegon Community College men’s bowling team captured its own bowling invitational title on Friday at Northway Lanes.
The Jayhawks shot 1,000 in the first game and used that momentum to win the title in the Muskegon Community College Invitational. MCC finished with 3,669. Delta College was second at 3,537.
Jeff VanLaan’s 247 game highlighted the Jayhawks’ effort in the opening game. That effort also earned VanLaan the tournament high game award.
Other top scores for MCC were Bobby DeCheney with a 204-193-192-589. Logan Holland shot a 223. Kyle Essenberg shot a 189-203, Jimmy Strysick had a 190, Lucas Johnson a 182 and Dylan Lewis a 180.
On the women’s side, MCC finished second to Schoolcraft. Adrianna Baker finished with a 190-169-175-535. Alyssa Farrel had a 189, Jolene Douglas had a 182, Stacey Walton had 181 and Ashley Martz a 175.
