The Muskegon Community College Jayhawk baseball team battled frigid weather and Owens Community College on Sunday in Ohio.

The result was a doubleheader split with MCC losing the opener 10-5 and winning the nightcap 7-3.

Stephon Chandonnet led MCC in the opener with three hits and two runs driven in. Seven walks and six errors plagued the Jayhawks in the first game.

In the nightcap, David Foster threw six solid innings and gave up four hits to earn the victory on the mound. Kory Brown was the hit leader with three hits, one a triple, and two RBI.

MCC (7-6) is scheduled to play at Aquinas on Thursday.
