The Whitehall Vikings scored seven first-half goals en route to a 9-1 victory over the Mason County Central Spartans on Thursday. The game ended early due to the 8-goal mercy rule.

“Our defense was very strong tonight and only had one breakdown, which allowed a breakaway,” Whitehall coach Dan Nichols said.

On offense, the Vikings peppered the Spartan net with 30 shots. Kelsey Gensler scored four goals while Morgan Myers had three. Miranda Jacobs finished with two goals.

Sara Schmiedeknecht had three assists.
