Muskegon Catholic Central’s Caroline Price was too much to handle for Western Michigan Christian. Price struck out 16 Warrior batters and had three hits and two RBI at the plate in MCC’s 11-8 win.

The Crusaders fell behind 6-3 entering the bottom of the fourth inning and scored four runs and added two more in the fifth and six innings.

Anna Sweetman led WMC with three hits and three RBI. Ariana Brondyke and Lorelle Hallenbeck each had a pair of hits and Emilee Pell had two RBI.

“We let our early lead slip away, but the girls never quit, right up to the final out,” said WMC coach Jeff Nestell. “Our defense was better today and we put lots of balls in play. The girls played with confidence and came up a bit short.”

WMC founds its early lead with a four-run third inning rally.

Janae Schultz had two hits and two RBI for MCC.
