Kent City was too much for Kelloggsville on Friday with a 10-3 softball victory.

The Eagles combined for seven runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.

“We finally put some hits together and capitalized on some mistakes,” said Krisha Hoffman about her team’s late-inning play. “We’ve been struggling at scoring runs lately so it was nice to see us make some progress.”

Pitcher Ella Clay had the win with seven strikeouts.

Janae Atwood led Kent City with three hits, including two triples, and three RBI.

Maddie Abshier had a single and two RBI and Justine Wolter and Breanna Williams had two hits apiece.
