Fruitport won the first game 3-1 and Whitehall took the second game 16-6 on Thursday in a nonleague softball twinbill.

Three runs in the sixth inning pushed Fruitport into the lead in the opener. Morgan Glover was the winning pitcher for the Trojans. She had four strikeouts. Andrea Benson had an RBI single.

Christy Pladies had a triple for Whitehall.

In the nightcap, Heidi Clark was the winning pitcher for the Vikings. She had four strikeouts.

Whitehall trailed 6-2, but scored nine runs in the fourth inning to gain the lead.

Megan Stout had three hits and drove in five runs. Alyssa Myers and Janelle Uganski each had two hits.

Alixis Black had two singles for Fruitport.

Whitehall is now 9-8 overall.
