The Hesperia Panthers captured a pair of softball victories on Friday over Big Rapids.

The Panthers won the opener 7-6 in 10 innings and the nightcap 10-5.

The first game was tied at 5-all after seven innings and each team scored a run in the ninth. Hesperia pushed across one run in the top  of the 10th and held on for the victory. Katie Annis and Rachel Farber each had three hits for Hesperia. Annis had a double. Riley Martin had two hit and knocked in two runs.

Annis, the winning pitcher, had seven strikeouts and allowed two earned runs in 10 innings of work.

In the second game, Maradith Schmitz was the winning pitcher for Hesperia. She had four strikeouts.

Paige Lavin and Alexis Castillo each had two hits. Castillo also had two RBI and scored three runs.
