North Muskegon finished with seven points and finished in a tie for 11th place in the two-state girls tennis state finals at Kalamazoo College.

Ludington tied for 15th with five points.

Bloomfield Hills Academy of the Sacred Heart won the Division 4 title with 29 points.

Top finishers included the North Muskegon No. 1 doubles team of Brielle Johnson and Kat Tyson. They reached the quarterfinal round before losing to eventual state champions Kelsey Nagle and Emily Nash from Bloomfield Hills Academy. The scores were 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.

North Muskegon’s No. 3 doubles team of Kelli Boes and Molly Huisingh also reached the quarterfinal round before losing. They were defeated by Nicole Desjardins and Lona Terauchi from Grosse Ile by the scores of 6-2, 5-7, 7-5.

Ludington’s No. 2 doubles team also reached the quarterfinal round. Anika Schmock and Olivia Laman dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision to Marybeth Maddalena and Nicole Jarwan from Lansing Catholic.
