The Fruitport boys soccer team broke into the victory column with a splash Monday, beating Coopersville 7-0 in a non-league matchup.

Andrew Frost led the way for the Trojans with two goals and three assists. Fruitport improved to 1-1-2 on the young season.

Noah Hendricks and Dalton Mullennix each scored first half goals for the Trojans with Frost assisting on each. Zach Gilson put Fruitport up 4-0 with a pair of goals midway through the second half.

Bryant Rebone added a tally for the Trojans before Frost scored the last two goals of the contest.

Jacob Clendenon, Cameron Brandow, Seth Carrier and Mullennix each had assists for Fruitport.

“It was just the performance we expected,” said Fruitport coach Greg Kobylak. “A dynamic attack with an improving defense.”

The Trojans outshot the Broncos 26-1 as goalie Conner Deneen posted the shutout.
