The Muskegon Lumberjacks will be competing in the 2013 USHL Atlantic Challenge. The weekend slate of games will be taking place Sept. 6-8.

The Atlantic Challenge extended invitations to six USHL organizations for the first time.  The six teams invited to this event are Muskegon, Waterloo, Youngstown, Sioux City, Sioux Falls, and Cedar Rapids.

All three Lumberjack games will be played at the Codey Arena in West Orange, New Jersey.  Other games in the event will be played at the Ice House in Hackensack, N.J.

The three-game schedule will start up on Friday evening at 5 p.m. when the Lumberjacks will play the Waterloo Black Hawks. On Saturday the Sioux City Musketeers and Lumberjacks will lock horns at 3:30 p.m.  The weekend will conclude on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. when the Lumberjacks face the Sioux Falls Stampede.

The Lumberjacks are currently slated to play in five games this preseason.  After competing in the Atlantic Challenge in N.J., the Lumberjacks will head west to Indianapolis to play in the “USHL Fall Classic” Sept. 14-15.

The Lumberjacks open the regular season Sept. 21 at Green Bay. Thier home opener will be Sept. 28 against Indiana at the L.C. Walker Arena.
