KENT CITY – The Kent City girls basketball team improved to 4-0 on the young season with an exciting 40-39 victory over Coopersville.

Down 21-12 at the break, the host Eagles took control in the second half, outscoring the Broncos 27-19 in the final two frames to escape with the win.

Both Kaitlyn Geers and Kendal Carlson paced the winners with 12 points each, with teammate Bailey Freeland adding six points in the victory.

Shelby DeHaan led Coopersville with 13 points.
