Early double digit lead lifts North Muskegon over Muskegon Heights Academy in girls basketball

North Muskegon jumped to an early double digit lead to top Muskegon Heights Academy 44-37 in girls basketball on Monday.

The Norse held the Tigers to eight first quarter points and led 31-19 at half.

The Tigers battled back in the second half and cut the Norse lead to five points with a minute to play.

Abby Clark iced the win for North Muskegon hitting all four of her free throws down the stretch. Clark finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.

Olivia Duncan led North Muskegon with 15 points while Nicole Smith added eight rebounds.

Frendreka Watkins-Oliver scored 13 points for Muskegon Heights. Matiece Jones had six points, 10 rebounds and nine steals and Akeecia Day had six points, six rebounds and five steals for the Tigers.
