Muskegon Catholic Central took advantage of an early first-quarter run to beat Oakridge 62-55 in boys basketball on Saturday.

The Crusaders led 19-8 after the first quarter and were led by Ian Tyler’s game-high 24 points.

Oakridge managed to chip MCC’s lead down to 44-37 before the fourth quarter but MCC answered with 18 points in the final eight minutes.

Dom Greenawalt led Oakridge with 20 points while Austin Wright finished with 17 points. Nate Wahr added eight points and Hunter Benson scored six.

MCC’s offense was led with eight players scoring on the night. Adam Callow finished with 11 points and Erik VanFossen and Nate Jones chipped in six points apiece.

Tyler finished with 10 rebounds, Christian Martinez had five assists and Lamar Jordan had five points and four steals for MCC (4-0).
