A low-scoring second half hurt the Grand Haven Buccaneers again Tuesday night, Dec. 17, in a 44-34 non-league boys’ basketball loss to the Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central Rangers.

Grand Haven, now 0-3, led 10-8 after the first quarter and 22-18 at halftime, but the Buccaneers netted only 12 points in the second half.

Forest Hills Central pulled away for the victory by scoring 26 points in the second half. The victory evened the Rangers’ record at 1-1 for the season.

Grand Haven will try to get into the victory column for the first time Fridaywhen the Buccaneers play at Reeths-Puffer against the Rockets at 7 p.m. Reeths-Puffer is 1-1 for the season after turning back Mason County Central 52-49 in another non-league game Tuesday night.
