MUSKEGON – The Muskegon Community College Jayhawk mens basketball squad dropped its third game in its last five contests Saturday with a 77-74 loss to the Mid Michigan Lakers.

Down44-33 at the break, the Jayhawks raced back to tie the game late, only to come up just short.

MCC was paced by Tyiwan Jones and Muskegon High School grad Rashard Donely, who both finished with 17 points apiece, with teammate Chase Casebolt, a Montague grad, poured in 14 points and Marquise Hatter added 13 in the loss.

The Lakers were led by Erick Layton’s game-high 28 points, with teammate Trevor Gernaat adding 21 points.
