Defensive pressure and easy baskets propelled the North Muskegon girls basketball team to a 48-34 win Thursday over Hart in West Michigan Conference action.

North Muskegon’s opened up a significant lead in the second quarter with a 16-6 edge. Abby Clark sparked the offense in the second quarter with nine points while Maggie Karaba added five.

The Norse pushed their lead to 20 points after three quarters and cruised to the victory.

Clark paced the Norse with 23 points, including five triples, and three assists. Karaba finished with eight points and five assists while Keah Brown added six rebounds for the winners.

North Muskegon’s record improved to 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

Anna Hertzler had eight points for Hart, which fell to 0-3.
