Balanced scoring and tough defense helped lead Shelby to a 70-39 boys basketball win over Fremont. The Tigers held Fremont to three single digit quarters after trailing in the first.

Fremont led 16-14 at the end of the first quarter but couldn’t stop the Shelby attack.

The Tigers went on a 18-7 run in the second for a 32-23 halftime lead and led 57-30 to enter the fourth quarter.

Point guard Jason Beckman led Shelby with 11 points, six assists and four steals. Andrew Beckman scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

The Tigers had nine players score as Caleb Anderson finished with 10 points and Lan Stotler had nine. Devin Mussell scored eight points and Spencer Lanids chipped in seven for the Tigers.

Dylan Krim paced Fremont with 12 points. Daniel Geeting and Jacob Kaastra added nine points apiece.
