Rachel Younts put up 17 points and 11 rebounds in Holton’s 62-55 win over Big Rapids in a CSAA girls basketball matchup on Monday.

The Red Devils closed out a close game with 24 fourth-quarter points.

“It was a close game throughout,” said Holton coach Jayson Robins. “But we were able to pull away in the fourth and shot 17 of 23 from the free throw line.”

Holton managed to grab a 28-24 halftime lead but couldn’t hold on to it in the third quarter as Big Rapids jumped to a 39-38 edge.

Megan Latch shot 6 of 7 from the free throw line in the fourth and finished with nine of her 13 points in the quarter for Holton. Latch also had eight rebounds and five steals.

Also leading for Holton was Jacki Stone with 13 points and four assist. Shelby Younts chipped in eight points.
