Mona Shores football to face Saline High School in Week 1 of upcoming 2014 season

The Mona Shores Sailors football team will be heading east to face Saline High School in Week 1 of the 2014 football season.

Division 1 Saline will host all three Mona Shores squads and the varsity contest will take place on August 29.

The one-year contract puts Mona Shores up against a Saline team that’s reached the playoffs the last two seasons with records of 10-2 in 2012 and 9-2 in 2013. The Hornets made a regional final appearance in 2012 where they fell to Detroit Cass Tech 21-14.

Dating back to 1950, the Hornets have posted 21 different seven-plus win seasons.
