Although the middle two quarters were relatively even, the Big Reds outscored the visiting Rockets 24-6 in the first and by nine in the fourth to win going away.

Muskegon junior Deyonta Davis, an MSU commit, exploded for 22 points, 13 boards and four blocks in the winning effort, while senior forward Joeviair Kennedy and junior guard Blake Andrews both finished with 12 points, and senior Deshaun Thrower finished with 10 points and seven assists for Muskegon.

The Rockets were paced by sophomore Deandre Oakes-Owens, who finished with 16 points, while fellow sophomore Jordan Cooley finished with 10 points in the loss.
