Despite the crippling winter weather the Muskegon area has suffered this week, they went on with the show Tuesday night in Spring Lake, as the Lakers hosted Oakridge in non-league boys hoops action.

And the Lakers took advantage of the situation, blasting out to a 20-2 first-quarter lead, and then holding off the Eagles the rest of the way to win 59-44.

The Eagles, who were without Head Coach Tracy Ruel due to a death in the family, clawed back into the contest with a 24-14 edge in the second to trail 34-26 at the halftime break.

Spring lake outscored the visitors 25-18 in the second half to complete the victory.

Oakridge senior Austin Wright led all scorers with 20 points, while Spring Lake junior Kyle Zietlow led his team with 19 points.

Laker senior center Nick Goeglein finished with 16, and sophomore teammate Keegan George added 14 in the win.
