The West Michigan Lake Hawks used a 78-point first half to top Team Network, 154-129 on Saturday in ABA basketball action. The Hawks drained nine 3-pointers and shot a sizzling 55 percent in the win.

Brandon Givens and Will Wright led the high powered West Michigan offense.

Givens scored 40 points with eight rebounds, four assists and four steals while Wright tallied 37 points, nine rebounds, six assists, four steals and three blocks.

The Lake Hawks hot start came with a 39-21 first quarter advantage. After leading 78-47 at half, West Michigan opened the third quarter with 41 points.

Bernard Web had a solid night for West Michigan with 14 points, eight rebounds, four assists, four blocks and a pair of steals. Anthony Crump scored 13 points and had seven rebounds, two assists and two steals.

West Michigan’s Ralph Monday added 11 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and two blocks. Nate Jennings led the Lake Hawks under the basket with 12 rebounds, nine points, and three steals.

Takarri Chruchwell drove West Michigan offense with nine assists and also had five steals with six points. Abner Kamps added 10 rebounds, nine points and two blocks. Damon Pope had five assists.

Team Network was led by Carl Walker with 35 points.
