Emily MacArthur’s 29 points and 13 rebounds led the Whitehall girls basketball team to a 65-35 victory on Friday night over North Muskegon in a West Michigan Conference game.

The Vikings led 15-6 after the first quarter and built a 32-12 lead by halftime.

Christy Pladies had five assist with four points and Rebekah Beeghly added seven points. Janelle Uganski scored five points and had three assists and Stephanie Keller pulled down six rebounds.

“We had a great total team effort tonight,” said Whitehall coach Rachel Kent. “The girls did a fantastic job supporting each other on the floor but also from the bench.”

The Vikings shot an impressive 18 of 20 from the free throw line. MacArthur finished 11 of 12 from the line to help lead the Whtiehall effort.

“We couldn’t stop MacArthur, not that many have,” said North Muskegon coach Douglas Clark. “She is tall, strong, athletic has great hands, and a great touch around the basket.”

Mya Duncan led North Muskegon with 10 points in the losing effort.
