Erica Adams’ double-double lead to Ravenna’s second victory of the season on Friday night 35-34 against West Michigan Conference opponent Hart.

The Bulldogs were behind at the half 21-16 before an 8-2 third quarter run helped the Pirates take a 24-23 lead after three quarters..

In the final moments of the game, the Bulldogs three-point lead was trimmed to a one lead after a lay-up by the Pirates.  

The Bulldogs missed a pair of free throws giving the Pirates a chance in the closing seconds.  

Two missed free throws by the Pirates sealed the victory for the Bulldogs.

“In the past games we would mentally breakdown and turn the ball over to close games.” said Ravenna coach James Lane. “Tonight we focused on the next play and the captain’s stepped up.”

A 10-point 15 rebound performance by Erica Adams led the way for the Bulldogs.  

Melissa McWatters led in scoring with 14 points, while Jamie Spoelman added nine rebounds in the victory.

Baylee Draper led the Pirates with 13 points, while Maddie Hegedus added 11 points in the loss.
